The Story Behind Pin-nee
Pin-nee is a collection of soft, functional art.
Each piece begins without a plan — just a blank canvas or a piece of linen — and becomes something unexpected. What starts as emotion is transformed into something soft, comforting, and full of personality.
From expressive paintings to whimsical pillows, every piece is designed to be lived with, carried, and kept close.
About the Artist
I'm Teresa Adams, and I began painting and sewing when I was 57 years old.
Ten years ago, I picked up a paintbrush for the first time. I had never painted before. I simply placed a canvas in front of me and began — not knowing what would come out, and still not knowing to this day.
Each painting takes anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, and every time, I am as surprised as anyone by what appears.
My paintings often carry deeper emotion. But when I began sewing — also for the first time — something different emerged. My pillows became light, whimsical, and full of character, almost balancing the emotions held in my paintings.
Over time, this has grown into a collection of over 100 paintings and more than 60 unique pillow designs.
My work has been featured in the Boise Art Museum Gift Shop, and continues to grow as a collection of pieces meant to be experienced, not just observed.
A Personal Note
I live in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and am a mother of four grown children.
Creating has become part of my everyday life — something that continues to surprise me, comfort me, and bring meaning in ways I never expected.
Each piece you see is part of that journey.
